How to Do the Zombie Trend, Step by Step

What you need before you start

• Two photos. One of each person. A clear, front-facing shot of the face works best.
• A Google account. You sign in with Google before you generate.
• Credits. Videos are paid for with credits, and the smallest pack is $7.99.
• A phone or a computer. Everything runs in the browser. There is no app to install and no prompt to write.

Step by step

1. Sign in. Use the Google button. Your credits are tied to this account.
2. Upload the two photos. The first photo is the person who turns into the zombie. The second is the person who finds them.
3. Check the options. The defaults give you the classic version: two people, a wheat field memory, sound on, vertical, 720p. Change them only if you want something different.
4. Press Generate. The cost in credits is shown under the button, and generation starts as soon as you press it. Then keep the tab open for about a minute.
5. Watch it once. Check both faces and the ending before you download.
6. Download the MP4. The file is 12 seconds long and ready to upload.

Which options to choose

• Cast. Couple or friends is the standard version. The pet version puts your pet in the zombie role.
• Memory scene. Wheat field, snow or beach. This is the bright scene the hug turns into at the end.
• Sound. Keep the sound if you want to post the clip as it is. Choose silent if you plan to add a trending sound inside TikTok or Instagram.
• Orientation. Vertical for TikTok, Reels and Shorts. Landscape for a regular YouTube upload.
• Resolution. 480p, 720p or 1080p. Higher resolution uses more credits. 720p is enough for a phone screen.

Posting it

1. Upload the MP4 like any other video. A vertical clip needs no cropping on TikTok, Reels or Shorts.
2. Add your sound. If you chose the silent version, pick the audio in the app so the post is linked to that sound.
3. Tick the AI label. TikTok, Instagram and YouTube all ask you to mark AI-generated video.
4. Tag the other person. They agreed to be in it, so let them share it too.

If the result looks off

A new take uses credits again, so fix the cause before you try a second time.

• A face does not look right. Swap in a sharper, front-facing photo with no sunglasses, hat or heavy filter.
• The photo was rejected. Use a photo with one adult in it, and not a celebrity or public figure. Check the file is a JPG, PNG, WebP or HEIC of at least 300 x 300 pixels.
• The generation failed. The credits go back to your balance automatically. Try again.

What it costs

One video uses 4 to 10 credits, depending on resolution. Packs are one-off purchases from $7.99, with no subscription, and unused credits do not expire.
